About Us

Maroochydore Presbyterian Church started as a church plant in the 1980s and has always been founded on faithful teaching of the Bible, proclamation of salvation through Jesus and connection with the local community.  Due to the desire to see all of the Sunshine Coast reached for Jesus Maroochydore helped plant and establish Tewantin Presbyterian church which is situated 30 minutes to the north, near Noosa. We hope that God in time will allow us to plant more churches on the Sunshine Coast.

In 2009 Maroochydore Presbyterian Church called Jens Norved as minister and since then has developed its ministries so as to cater both for those more traditional in their heart-language as well as those who are more contemporary.

The Maroochydore area is growing rapidly, and will see over the next decade an increase in both the aged, and the younger segments of our society. And as a church we want all people, both old and young, to know that Jesus changes lives. That is why our 9:00am Sunday Morning service is more traditional in style and our 6:00pm Sunday Night service is contemporary in style.

Our goal is that each person in our church will connect, grow, and serve. “Connect, Grow, Serve” is a way of thinking about the pathway of becoming a Christian, growing as a Christian, and serving as a mature Christian:

• We connect to God through trust in Jesus’ death on the cross for our sins. We regularly connect with other believers here at Maroochydore. And we desire to connect to our community so that others can know the life change Jesus offers.
• We grow in our relationship with Christ and other believers, especially through church and active involvement in a growth group.
• We serve Jesus Christ and others through active involvement in ministry, according to our gifts and others’ needs.

Our prayer is that God will continue to grow our church into a vibrant and loving community, committed to the Lord in all areas of our lives. And we hope your time with us will be a blessing to you.
